On February 15, 1955, in
an abandoned warehouse located at 2201 Oates Drive, the first
service of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church was held with a group of 55
persons attending. At the close of the service, 30 people
presented themselves for membership and Shiloh Terrace was born as a
mission of First Baptist Church, Dallas. They had a vision to
worship God and to share His great news with the surrounding
community through worship, teaching and committed relationships.
Today Shiloh Terrace is a regional Church of more than
2000 members, still sharing the vision established by the original
mission. Continuing the tradition, Shiloh Terrace has
started three mission Churches and led the effort to start
Mission East Dallas.
